It was great to welcome mayor Kathy Sajowitz and many parents and community members to help us acknowledge the wonderful citizens of our school.
We were royally entertained by our kindergarten students performing BINGO, the Power-Point presentation of the Point Wolstoncroft excursion and the combined senior and junior choirs under the direction of Mr Sattler of the Mitchell Conservatorium of Music.
The Oberon Council Citizenship Award Recipients for 2017 were Charlie Christie-Johnston early stage one, Levi Maloney stage 1, Emma Perry stage 2 and Alixis Campbell stage 3.
Stage 3 students at Oberon Public enjoyed a video-conference with State Parliament last Friday afternoon, gaining an understanding of the development of democracy in NSW, the levels of government and the bicameral system.
The students have been studying Australian Colonies in class.
Mark Armstrong from Oberon High is visiting Oberon Public twice a week to support stage 3 students in the development of their ICT skills. Students are enjoying participating in STEM projects, working on digital technologies and learning about coding and programming.
