Member Laurie McMahon said they were contacted by the group to open the museum especially for the weekday visit.
"The visitors spent over two hours inspecting many items on show at the museum and many met up with family members from the local area,” she said.
"Many said this was their first visit and many said they will be back again."
Ms McMahon said the bus group stayed for morning tea and they had lunch at local eateries before heading home.
Ms McMahon encourages locals to come and visit the museum, entry via Scotia Avenue, on a Saturday or Sunday between 10.30am and 5pm, or by appointment by phoning 6336 1016.
The museum features a number of historical photos on display as well as pieces of machinery and artefacts.
Visitors can receive an insight into how the Oberon district pioneers adapted and survived in the often harsh landscape.
