ROBIE Porter, who will be performing at the RSL Club this Friday, was awarded an OAM in the Queen’s Birthday honours list last week for his service to the music industry as a producer, writer and performer.

Mr Porter appeared on Sydney radio station 2GB and the Channel 9 Today Extra show where he talked about his career as well as plugging his show this Friday night at Oberon RSL Club with special guest Phil Emmanuel.

Oberon RSL manager Peter Price said it's wonderful to get that sort of publicity for Oberon on national media.

"We are looking to get more music artists into the Central West and why not Oberon? The Wizard of Oz show features Robie Porter and the legendary guitarist Phil Emmanuel,” he said.

“These are two great artists with many years of music behind them.”
