Women’s golf
SIXTEEN lady golfers played in the second round of the Arrow Family Trophy last week which was a versus par game. The course was in great condition! It’s obvious the men have been putting in lots of hours to keep the fairways and greens in such good shape.

The winner in Division 1 was Glennie McGrath with -1. In second place was Robyn Slattery with -2 and in third place was Robyn Stapleton with -3. Robyn Slattery also won the nearest with pin with a lovely second shot.
In Division 2, the winner was Helen Toohill. In second place was Flo Spence and in third place was Bev Dale. None of the ladies hit the green with the second shot.
Next week the ladies will play a Stableford and the week after, on June 7, the ladies will play in the Veterans’ Country Championships.
Men’s Golf
THURSDAY golf was well supported, the guys making the most of the pleasant autumn weather. Bob Slattery had a great afternoon, enjoying a bit of slack on his handicap and easily won the afternoons golf. I am well informed his handicap next week will not be quite so generous.
On Saturday there was a smaller field playing a three person Ambrose. Despite the size of the field there were some pretty good scores. The dark horses of the day was the unlikely team of Tim Crichton, John Crichton and Bill Grady, they came in with the fine round of 67/55 1/2, the unlucky runners up was the fine team of Laurie Murphy, Hamish Anderson and Neil Whalan 62/56 1/2.
Nearest the pin on the ninth hole was Kim Rawlings just 83 cm from the cup, Barry Lang was closest on the 17th.
Next weeks golf will be an 18 hole Stableford event.
Last week a hearing aid was found on the sixth tee. If anybody has lost the device or knows who might have lost it they will be able to pick it up at the club house.
Netball news
THE netball Hot shots team had a more challenging game on Saturday coming away with a win, 13-3.
Defending players Zia, Sophie and Kayla worked hard together with our attacking players Makayla, Cady, Neive and Georgia who showed great ability to control play and work together as a team. Neive received player of the week for scoring numerous goals against a strong defensive tea.
Indoor bowls
ON May 16 Inge Braun and Kevin Whalan scored one rester each and the team winners were skip Lynette Maloney and Kathryn Maloney with a score of 11 points. Runnersup were skip Kevin Whalan and Inge Braun who were only one point behind with ten points.
There was good bowling by all players on the night with close scoring ends.
Inge won the indoor bowls raffle. Good luck bowlers and see you next Tuesday and remember names in between 6.45pm and 7pm.
