Along with new branding and revamped workshop Andrew had many restored cars on display and some old classics waiting to be restored.
Guests enjoyed a tour of the facility and a sausage sizzle.
Andrew took over the business at Easter after working alongside Julieanne Rowlandson for over two years.
“Oberon Smash has been servicing the Oberon community for over 40 years and we will continue to provide an excellent service to Oberon,” said Andrew.
“I am excited about the new challenge and look forward to servicing clients for their repair needs and classic restoration projects.
“We employ six locals and I'm looking forward to developing and extending existing skills through training.
“I'm excited about the new challenge and with over 50 years of combined experience between the staff - no job is too big or too small.
“As a repairer for all insurance companies, and warranty on all of our work, you can feel comfortable that repairs to your vehicle can be done locally.
“If you have an accident you have a choice of your repairer.”
Julieanne’s father Norm Brown started the business in the early 1970s with Norm working out of his garage at home.
Norm purchased a garage in 1974 in Carrington Avenue from Len Williams – the business still operates from the same location.
Norm learnt his panel beating skills from Snowy Baker.
Julieanne said she cannot remember a day where her father didn’t go to work. The only time dad had off was to play football.
“I used to come in after school to clean the tea room. As the business grew I came to work for dad full time.”
In 1991 Norm put a big expansion on the workshop to cater for the growing business.
Julieanne said she would like to thank Oberon for supporting the business over the last 40 years . She congratulates Andrew and and Jackie and she wishes them well in their new venture.
