Police spoke to business owners in the main CBD and advised them on security issues and distribute a Bizsafe brochure which provides tips on keeping their business and the community safer.

“There were seven break and enters in Oberon over the Easter weekend with several thousand dollars in cash and equipment stolen and we have CCTV vision on our Facebook page,” Inspector Abercrombie said.

“We would appreciate any information from the public or maybe someone may recognise the male who is described as in his mid 30s to 40s. Wearing all black, with black cap and black back pack. He also appears to be holding a screwdriver in his right hand.”

Police are appealing to any member of the public who may have information to assist them to please contact Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Inspector Abercrombie said there were three full time police in Oberon with a fourth position currently being filled. Cr Sajowitz said she was pleased to see the police in town.
