Over 150 people joined the free event with Mark from D2F, briefing the eager crowd gathered in Mayfield’s Kitchen Garden area before they set off on either a 3km run/walk or a 6km run/walk.
The youngest attendee was two months old while the oldest runner was up to 70 years of age.
There were furry friends, families and fitness advocates all who enjoyed exploring the garden, many of which hadn’t been to Mayfield before.
An unrelieved backdrop, running down the allee of London plane trees and the obelisk being the finish line – it doesn’t get much better than that.
Mayfield Café served its garden and paddock to plate menu to all those who finished, competitively or leisurely - as Mark presented the winners with a goodie bag, including prizes donated by local businesses, and a 12 month annual pass to Mayfield for each of the winners.
Congratulations to male 3km winner James Patterson, 3km female winner Danielle Patterson, 6km male winner Mark Windsor and 6km female winner Christie Schumacher.
Others rewarded themselves with a coffee from Mayfield Kiosk, a newly opened area where the wood fire pizza oven is. Now serving coffee, tea, pizza, pies and donuts – not to mention our local wine. The kiosk will be open for the crowds to flood through when our Autumn Festival begins on Saturday 15th. We’re open every day over Easter Period too.
Keep up to date with the next fun run here.
