MEMBERS of Bathurst’s Central Tablelands Woodcraft group are hoping an appeal for public help will lead to the return of a special item.

The Woodies held an exhibition at the Bathurst City Centre on Friday and Saturday, March 17 and 18 where the item was accidentally sold.
“We had some items that were for sale and some just for display,” president John McMahon said. “Unfortunately, there was a bit of confusion and one of the display items was inadvertently sold.”
The item is a rolling pin.
“It has a Celtic cross pattern, which takes a fair bit of work,” Mr McMahon said. “It was made by member Bob Bennett and he has won two or three prizes with it.”
Mr Bennett had plans to pass the rolling pin on to his family, Mr McMahon said. The other items bought with the rolling pin were a chopping board and thermometer.
”We are really hoping that the person who bought it might be generous enough to get in touch and return it,” Mr McMahon said.
So the buyer isn’t left empty-handed, the Woodies’ Bob Baillie, who also makes rolling pins with a Celtic cross pattern, has agreed to make a new one to replace Mr Bennett’s rolling pin.
