An RMS spokesperson said the NSW Government allocated $125,000 to upgrade the intersection under the NSW Safer Roads State Black Spot Treatments program.
“This upgrade will aim to reduce the number and severity of crashes,” the spokesperson said.
“Work involves heavy patching, improving line and pavement marking at the North and Oberon streets intersection and resealing the road for improved safety.
“Safety signs will also be installed at the intersection and the North and Albion streets intersection.”
Work will continue until Friday, March 17 from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturday, weather permitting.
“Motorists should plan their trip and allow extra travel time as there will be lane closures in place while work is carried out,” the spokesperson said. “Traffic control and a speed limit of 40km/h will also be in place.
“Roads and Maritime Services will also take the opportunity to carry out essential road maintenance at the intersection while safety work is being delivered.”
