House points were up for grabs and the house captains worked tirelessly to encourage all students to participate.
This was the year for rewriting the record books - 17 records were broken on the day by Georgie Rich, Olivia Sullivan and Jorgia McFawn, all swimming at the top of their form.
Jorgia broke a 1983 record (yes, that’s 1983) by nearly two seconds.
Records broken were:
- Georgie Rich, 50m butterfly, 36.99, old record 41.12 (2016);
- Georgie Rich, 100m freestyle 16 years, 1.18.18, old record 1.22.70 (2016);
- Georgie Rich, 50m freestyle 16 years, 33.74, old record 34.00 (1991);
- Georgie Rich, 25m freestyle 16 years, 14.95, old record 16.81 (2002);
- Georgie Rich, 50m breaststroke 16 years, 42.37, old record 45.43 (2011);
- Georgie Rich, 200m freestyle 16 years, 3.03.21, old record 3.11.19 (2016);
- Georgie Rich, 200m individual medley senior girl, 3.26.45, old record 3.34.22 (2016);
- Olivia Sullivan, 50m butterfly, 41.68, old record 44.06 (2012);
- Olivia Sullivan, 100m freestyle 17 years+, 1.22.54, old record 1.26.97 (2012);
- Olivia Sullivan, 50m freestyle 17 years+, 36.03, old record 37.10 (1993);
- Olivia Sullivan, 200m freestyle 17 years+, 3.05.06, old record 3.25.78 (2012);
- Olivia Sullivan, 50m backstroke 17 years+, 41.26, old record 43.57 (2013);

The winning house on the day was Werong.
Abercrombie and Tuglow are now keen to turn the tables in the athletics carnival due to be held today and in the upcoming cross country event.
In other events at the school, construction and hospitality students are participating in their work placements in the two-week period to March 3 and round one of the 2017 Rural Cup, Oberon vs Molong at Molong, will be held on March 16.
