For some, it is a day of bold, adventurous declarations of love. For others, it’s a day for a more subtle way to show someone they are important and loved.
And for others it is a day to show members of the community that they are appreciated and special.
That was the case this week when, on Valentine's Day, the Mayfield Garden maintenance team arrived at work at 5.30am to cut flowers out of the garden and put 40 arrangements together to hand-deliver to Oberon Health Service staff and patients to wish them a happy Valentine's Day.
Staff also supplied a complimentary flower arrangement to those ladies who dined at the cafe at Mayfield Garden.
Mayfield Garden spokesman Hamish Keith said it was a pleasure to see all the smiling faces when they received their flowers.
