There will be a full rodeo program, including the Oberon Earthmoving Rod Brien Memorial bull ride with $2500 in prizemoney up for grabs, as well as the Oberon Quarries Jack Johnson Memorial Saddle Bronc with prizemoney of $1500 (enter on the day).
Entries for all other events will be through ABCRA Central Entry on February 16 and 17 at www.abcra.com.au/centralentry, except the local steer ride and ladies’ steer ride.
The action will include bareback, team roping, barrel racing and steer riding.
A canteen and bar will be open all day and there will be strictly no alcohol taken into the showground.
There will also be entertainment after the rodeo.
The Royal Hotel Geoff Maher Memorial Local Steer Ride is worth $500 and entries will be taken on the day at the office and will be $20 for those who are 16 years and over and who reside within 50km of Oberon.
For the women, there will be $200 on offer for the Emma Boland Photography Ladies’ Steer Ride.
Those who are not a member of the Australian Bushman’s Campdraft and Rodeo Association will have to pay a day membership fee of $45 adult and $20 junior (under 18) on top of their entries.
