It appears young Ian Cunynghame and young Scott Rowladson will have a bit of opposition when the new 10 cent container deposit scheme comes into force on July 1, 2017.
Young Alf Williams and young Chilli Curry have thrown down the challenge to collect the most cans and bottles prior to July 1, 2017.
The two entrepreneurs will be collecting cans and bottles every Saturday, Sunday and on their flexi days. Mind you they are taking the collection a bit too far.
Apparently the boys were trying to collect stubbies from patrons at the Royal Hotel before they had even consumed the contents of the stubby.
So as not to annoy Royal patrons, the boys will be alternating their collections at the Tourist Hotel, the RSL Club and the Leagues Club.
The other big news around town is the NSW Government's decision to change the method for fund allocation to the NSW Rural Fire Service this financial year.
It appears we may have to pay a “fire levy” alongside our council rates. Now if that is the case, just imagine a nightmare it will be for council staff.
Our future rates notices will nearly be the size of a table cloth.
