Reg Boyd had a marvellous day and recorded a comfortable winning score of 47 points. Dick O'Donnell, as president of the Central West vets, does a marvellous job of getting all the vets here for the day and organising carts. Our ladies as usual did a lovely job of catering for the day.
A busy week for golf, good fields on Thursday and Saturday in pleasant spring weather. Dan Henby was up for a game of golf on Thursday afternoon and produced a good round to take the honours. Balls went to Hugh O'Neil, Peter Dale and Harold Lyme.
On Saturday we played an 18 hole Stableford event. The course is playing with a bit of run and the greens are recovering well from renovations. As a result we are seeing some pretty good rounds played with good scores.

A match play draw has been done and a couple of matches played on Saturday. Check the sheet for your opponent, and get the match played as soon as possible.
Matches don't need to be played in a normal competition so make arrangements and get the job done. The competition is wide open as the match play Champion from the last match play was defeated on Saturday. Chad Drury was too strong for Alan Cairney.
Members are reminded that the Oberon Golf Club Open will be played on November 26-27.
The Saturday event is a 4BBB including a mixed 4BBB, get your partner organised we will be playing for tickets to the NSW Tennis Open.
Sunday is the Open event, so invite friends and contacts from other clubs to test their skills on our wonderful course.
Christmas is not far away and the traditional Christmas Ambrose will be played on December 19.
This a great opportunity to invite potential golfers and friends to make up your team. The Big Trout Motor Inn is the sponsor and always have wonderful trophies for the event.
Next Sunday is the Blackheath Open, lets have a good representation from Oberon, their course is usually in great condition at this time of the year.
Eric Whalan as president of the Blue Mountains district has been representing Oberon at the open events on the Mountains and last week came away with a win in B Grade at Wentworth Falls.
Golfers are reminded to always take a bucket of sand and repair your divots and pitch marks on the greens. As our Open day approaches there are lots of jobs to be done on the course, if you have some time see Gerard at the shed and he will give some direction as to what needs to be done.
