Oberon Women’s Golf Club members played a 27-hole foursomes stableford event last week in very chilly conditions which made it difficult to ever warm up.

The course was looking beautiful and the greens, although only recently renovated, were excellent, thanks to greenkeeper Gerard and the team of volunteers who spend so many hours on the course.
The scratch winners were Glennie McGrath and Robyn Slattery with 146 off the stick. Runners-up were Robyn Stapleton and Alma Hotham with 152. In third place were Wilma Artery and Marjorie Webb with 154.
The nett winners were Colleen Saul and Helen Toohill with 117¾ and the runners-up were Robyn Stapleton and Alma Hotham with 118¼. In third place were Wilma Artery and Marjorie Webb with 119½.
Nearest the pin winners were Helen Toohill, Colleen Saul, Glennie McGrath and Robyn Slattery.
The prizes will be presented at the ladies’ end of year presentation.
Colleen Saul, Robyn Stapleton and Marjorie Webb were playing in the NSW Golf Medal competition in Leura last Monday. It was a lovely sunny day, so hopefully the ladies were in good form. Result next week!
All golfers and would-be golfers are invited to the Melbourne Cup three-person ambrose next Tuesday, November 1. Tee off will be at 10am. There will be sweeps and a lunch after the golf.
