Oberon Council is encouraging members of the community to nominate an outstanding Australian from the local government area.
“In our local community there are many quiet achievers who work tirelessly for others. The awards are an ideal opportunity for us all to recognise their efforts,” a council spokesperson said.
The awards categories are citizen of the year, young citizen of the year (for up to 18 years), sportsperson of the year, young sportsperson of the year (for up to 18 years), sports team of the year, community event of the year and volunteer or volunteer group of the year.
Nomination forms are available from council’s administration centre, the Visitor Information Centre or council’s website.
