The competition challenged students to create a video around the theme “maths is more than just numbers” which generated conversations about the real-world application of maths.
Competition organisers said it was a way to get creative, stepping beyond the classroom to bring a love of mathematics to life on film. Participants got to demonstrate their talent by exploring problem solving and real-world applications.
The junior section required participants to create a video based on the theme of “maths in everyday life”.
The boys created a five-minute video with the assistance of Tiffany Williams.
Maths is more than just numbers.
The video was then shared through social media and the competition portal.
Viewers voted, along with the judges, critiquing the submissions.
The boys’ video made it through to the final short-list for judging.
They received a highly commended for their efforts.
Congratulations to everyone involved.
