Member for Bathurst Paul Toole was in Oberon to make the multi-million-dollar announcement last week.
Oberon Council will receive $4.95 million in funding to upgrade the Oberon Sewage Treatment Plant under the NSW Government’s Regional Water and Waste Water Program.
“This project will see the construction of a new, modern sewage treatment plant that will meet current environmental standards and will employ modern technology for the treatment process and for monitoring and control,” Mr Toole said.
“This new plant will be built to meet the future capacity for the growth area of west Oberon.
“The project will see the provision of essential services to the community and develop structures and processes for the future.”
Mr Toole said $110 million has been provided by the NSW Government to construct “modern water and sewerage infrastructure in regional towns across the state”.
