Saturday was a great day and golfers turned out in good numbers to enjoy the beautiful course.
We played an 18 hole par event. A grade was won by John McKinnon on +2, and the runner-up was Darren Gordon also on +2. Chad Drury was the B grade winner on +1, while Hugh O'Neil was the runner-up on -1. Balls went to Roger Arrow, Kyall Ryan, Bob Slattery and Kim Rawlings.
Nearest the pin on the first and the 17th went to Rob McGrath, Neil Whalan was 1.3m from the seventh and Brian Beesley was just 1.1m from the pin on the ninth.
Don't forget the Super Six comp will be starting with daylight saving. Get your teams organised and enjoy the sunshine on Thursday evenings.
We will be starting a nine-hole competition shortly to be played Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Fridays. A different nine will be played each week, with handicaps based on the Thursday handicaps. More details soon.
Renovations will start on the course on Monday of the long weekend. We will need assistance during the week to have the greens playable the following week.
Golf next week will be a stroke round, playing for the monthly medal and counting your putts. Monday will be a Stoney Creek Ambrose. Get a couple of mates and make up a team.
