Over the past two years, the three Daffodil Fairies, otherwise known as Kay Jones, Kate Dullard and Brenda Lyon, in conjunction with Oberon Council, have planted over 10,000 daffodils throughout Oberon – and that effort is paying off.
The display at the corner in Apex Park was a generous donation by the Oberon Business and Tourism Association.
Mrs Lyon said there were no parks in Oberon 35 years ago and “now we have many new areas”.
“Volunteers are welcome to join us on September 5 at 8.30 at Apex Park to do a spring clean-up,” she said.
Mrs Lyon said there will be two gardens, side-by-side, open to the public from September 10 to 25 at Sloggetts Road, Oberon.
More than 10,000 daffodil bulbs have been planted in these gardens to brighten up the area.
At “Brydie Park”, visitors will be able to view the different ways of planting daffodils and many features that have been added to this garden since Mrs Lyon purchased it six years ago.
The garden features hundreds of varieties of daffodils and many different spring-flowering bulbs.
Refreshments will be available and entry will cost $10.
