Beloved Miss Bev has served as the principal at Oberon Children’s Centre for the past 28 years and is now moving on to the next stage of her life – retirement.
More than 50 people attended her farewell, including old committee members, staff and former students and their families.
Miss Bev’s husband and three children were also in attendance.
The farewell featured speeches by Kerry Stewart from Oberon Children’s Centre and deputy mayor of Oberon Kerry Gibbons.
Miss Bev also addressed the room.
Oberon Children’s Centre staff member Janice Brennan said it was a very emotional night for Miss Bev and the guests.
“It was very hard because I’ve worked with her for 20 years,” she said.
Miss Bev was presented with a solid gold bangle on the night as a memento of her time at the childcare centre.
Meredith Cameron has taken on the role of principal at the facility.
