Captain coach Zac Rowlandson said Oberon played 100 per cent better than the week before against Lithgow Workies.
“We stuck to our game plan and did what we had to do,” he said. “Cowra are a lot better side than the scoreboard indicates.
“We let Cowra run the game and we defended well and they eventually ran out of puff.
“That’s when Oberon started to make some moves and score tries.”
Zac said this week’s game against Bathurst Panthers will be tough.
“This will be the toughest test to date – they have some good and dangerous players. We’ve come away with no injuries and we’ll field a strong team.”
Oberon Tigers try scorers were Trent Rose, Matt Ballinger, Blake Miller, Abel Lefaoseu, Tyler Hughes (all one) and three tries to Jackson Brien. Trent Rose kicked four goals.
This week Oberon take on Bathurst Panthers with league tag kicking off at 10.30am, under 18s 11.30am, first division 12.45 and premier league at 2.30pm.
