The proposed project will see the construction of a 40-hectare glasshouse that will deliver high-yield premium hydroponic vine crops including tomatoes, eggplants and capsicums.
Along with a concurrent project to be located in Stawell, Victoria, the Oberon site was selected for its climate, low humidity, access to transport routes and proximity to the Sydney market, as well as the availability of gas and water.
The project’s launch was announced on Monday.
Nectar Farm executives will hold a community consultation and information session on Tuesday, February 9 at 7pm, at Oberon RSL Club,
It is envisaged that at full capacity, 308 direct jobs will be created along with approximately 200 indirect jobs.
