Plenty of golfers were out and about this week. They were all keen to see if they could play to their handicap. Not many succeeding.

The Thursday 12 hole competition was won by Graham Hotham with 23 points and playing off a pretty generous handicap, too.
Bill Wilcox won himself a ball.
A good turnout of golfers on Saturday were greeted by a bit of rare sunshine.
The competition was an 18 hole par with a couple of very good scores – and a lot of pretty ordinary scores.
Kim Rawlings is trying to prove he is still only a young fellow and had a great score of +6 to easily win A grade.
That kind of score will reduce Kim’s handicap for next week.
The runner up with a fine round of +2 was Mick English.
B grade was headed by what you could call a couple of casual golfers.
Kevin Whalan and Peter Ryan haven’t been at golf for a while, but both had square cards on Saturday.
Kevin came home strongly to be the winner on a count back, Peter had to settle for the runners up position.
Nearest the pin on the first was Brian Beesley at 3.2 metres and Robert Hayden back from his trip to the Cape to claim the 7th at 1.6 metres. No one managed to get a measure on the 9th, while Tim Crichton saved his best for last and was only 2.4 metres from the 17th.
Balls went to Laurie Murphy, Brian Beasley, Dennis O’Connell Tim Crichton, Paul Behan and Lenore Zamparini.
