■ You are invited to a celebration of Kerrie McKay’s life on Saturday, August 1 at 2pm at the Tarana Fire Shed, Afternoon tea supplied.
■ Oberon Can Assist’s next meeting is at 7pm on August 13 at Oberon RSL. General meeting to appoint new committee. All residents of Oberon and surrounds most welcome. Max Sward president.
■ Bathurst District Prostate Cancer Support Group’s next meeting is Tuesday, August 18 in the Hospital Heritage Building – Conference Room 1. Guest speaker Josephine Priddle from Spec Savers. 4pm tea and nibbles, 4.45pm short business meeting, 5pm our group’s speakers. Men and women welcome.
■ Come to the Robey Centre at Oberon Multipurpose Service in North Street on Mondays and Thursdays from 11am to 2pm. Meet new people, light exercises, craft, quizzes and bingo with lots of laughs. We can pick you up and take you home. Cost is $2 and $5 for lunch, tea and coffee as well as morning tea. Please contact Annette Roels on 6336 7200 for more information.
■ Oberon and District Museum, entry via Scotia Avenue, is open every Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 5pm, or by appointment. Call 6336 1016.
■ Centrelink/Medicare agency - the Neighbourhood Centre at 12 Ross Street is available for all Centrelink, Medicare or any Department of Human Services needs. Call in Wednesday - Friday 9am-1pm and we can assist you with your enquiries. There is a self-service terminal for you to lodge or enquire about benefits payable and a scanner/fax for documents which need to be sent. Please make use of this free service and save a trip to Bathurst. Please contact Sue Fisher-Smith on 6336 0909 for additional information.
■ Oberon Roller Derby (ORD) training is on Wednesday nights from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at the Oberon High School hall for all of term three. If you would like to skate, you are welcome to join us.
■ The Oberon Uniting Church would like to invite any members of the community to an informal get together for morning tea at 10.30am, activities followed by lunch at the Uniting Church Hall on the fourth Monday of each month. Cost $10, which covers morning tea, activities and lunch.
■ Knit With Love will be held on first Friday of every month from 10am-12.30pm in the Community Centre. All welcome.
