■ The next meeting of Oberon Can Assist will be on Thursday, May 14 at the Oberon RSL Club.
■ The Oberon Hospital Auxiliary’s next meeting is May 15 in the Robey Centre. New members welcome.
■ Cowra Gem and Collectors Club will be holding its Fair on May 16 and 17. Members of the public will be permitted entry to the event at the Cowra Showground Pavilion on Saturday from 9.30am and Sunday from 9am.
■ Burraga Ag-Bureau will hold its annual yard dog training on Saturday, May 30 in the Francis Pavilion, starting at 9am. Run by well-known dog trainer Chris Stapleton. Dogs and their handlers will be trained individually. Cost $10 per dog. Coffee, steak sandwiches and afternoon tea. The Francis Pavilion is in the showground behind the Burraga village store.
■ Come to the Robey Centre at Oberon Multipurpose Service in North Street on Mondays and Thursdays from 11am to 2pm. Meet new people, light exercises, craft, quizzes and bingo with lots of laughs. We can pick you up and take you home. Cost is $2 and $5 for lunch, tea and coffee as well as morning tea. Please contact Annette Roels on 6336 7200 for more information.
■ Oberon and District Museum, entry via Scotia Avenue, is open every Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 5pm. Enquiries 6336 1016.
■ Centrelink/Medicare agency - the Neighbourhood Centre at 12 Ross Street is available for all Centrelink, Medicare or any Department of Human Service’s needs. Call in Wednesday to Friday, 9am-1pm and we can assist you with your enquiries. There is a self-service terminal for you to lodge or enquire about benefits payable and a scanner/fax for documents which need to be sent. Please make use of this free service and save a trip to Bathurst. Contact Sue Fisher-Smith on 6336 0909 for additional information.
■ Oberon Roller Derby (ORD) training is now on Monday nights from 6pm to 9pm at the Oberon High School.
■ The Oberon Uniting Church would like to invite members of the community to an informal get together for morning tea at 10.30am, activities, followed by lunch, at the Uniting Church Hall on the fourth Monday of each month. Cost is $10 which covers morning tea, activities and lunch.
■ Knit With Love will be held on first Friday of every month from 10am-12.30pm in the Community Centre. All welcome.
