Paul Toole and his supporters have gathered at the RSL in Bathurst to celebrate victory in the seat of Bathurst. We spoke to Mr Toole a short while ago and this is what he had to say:
8.05pm:
Paul Toole will be comfortably returned as the Member for Bathurst, earning his second four-year term in State Parliament.
Mr Toole pulled well ahead of his rivals right from the start of counting of votes shortly after polls closed at 6pm and has maintained that lead as counting continues.
At 8pm, with about 28 per cent of the Bathurst vote counted, Mr Toole had secured 56.62 per cent of the primary vote, ahead of Country Labor’s Cassandra Coleman (30.34 per cent) and The Greens' Tracey Carpenter (9.55 per cent). Read the full story

The wood raffle being held at the O'Connell Public School polling booth will be drawn this afternoon.
The raffle is in support of Penny and Mick Colley taking part in the Camp Quality Tractor Trek in September.
"We've been really lucky so we are doing it for people need a hand," Ms Colley said.
The trek leaves from Bathurst September 18 for a 300 kilometre round trip before returning back to Bathurst on September 20.
Additional fundraisers for the trek will be run throughout the year.

THERE is just 20 minutes to go to cast your vote in the NSW State Election.
There are 43 booths across the Seat of Bathurst - stretching from Lithgow to Millthorpe and Trunkey to Rylstone - and Country Labor's Cassandra Coleman, the Nationals' Paul Toole and The Greens' Tracey Carpenter are hoping your vote in these last few minutes.
The penalty for failing to vote is a $55 fine. You'll receive a penalty notice by mail and then need to either pay or provide a good reason for not voting within 28 days of the date of issue.
If you fail to do this, the state debt recovery office could cancel your driver's licence or car registration.

Perthville resident Eunice O'Donnell had to interrupt her 97th birthday celebrations today to case her vote it the NSW State Election.
Her daughter Jan McGuire was on hand to help and following a quick vote at Perthville Public School's polling booth, both women went back to celebrating.

By the time today is over Joanne Toole, wife on MP Paul Toole, will have visited 20 polling booths in support of the Nationals' volunteers.
Along with her sister, Michelle Hodder, they will deliver sandwiches, lollies, fruit and water to the volunteers who gave up their Saturday in support of the party.
"We want to get to at least 20 venues so we have to work fast," Mrs Toole said.
"We just wanted our volunteers to know how much we appreciate their hard work."

"My husband and I were at a little booth outside Young and it was a National party stronghold and we didn't bring any lunch and the lovely National party group shared their lunch with us."

The 2015 Sustainable Living Expo was held at Bathurst Showground this morning in conjunction with the monthly farmers' market.
Hundreds of people came along to find out more about how to live in a more sustainable manner and snap up some great local produce.
Planet Ark and Do Something! founder Jon Dee was guest speaker and held a captive audience for more than an hour.

Kane Callaghan is volunteering for The Greens at Bathurst South Public School today.
Mr Callaghan and a friend started the first registered political group at Charles Sturt University this year. They started the group representing The Greens to help fill what Mr Callaghan believes is a "lack of a political environment on campus".
"We saw it as an integral part of the university experience," he said.
"We now have 150 likes on our Facebook page and 35 core members who attend our meetings every Monday."

The Catholic Centre is hosting a nostalgia display at the polling booth on Keppel Street in Bathurst today.
On show are photographs from the 150 year history of the Cathedral of St Michael and St John.
Also on show are wedding and baptism gowns, as well as first communion dresses.
Entry is free so why not pop in for a look after you've cast your vote at the Cathedral Catholic Primary School.

IF you're casting your vote at Millthorpe Public School today, make sure you grab a sausage sandwich for a good cause.
On the barbecue this morning is Jason Sargent and Paul Harvey who are cooking up a feast to support three local girls heading overseas in the Australian Futsal Representation 2015 team.
The girls, Kallie Sargent, 14, Sarah Coleman, 15, and Taylah Sargent, 16, are all ex-students of Millthorpe Public School.
The school is located on Boomerang Street, Millthorpe and the polling booth is open until 6pm today.

Quick note for anyone planning to vote at Kelso Public School in Bathurst today.
Bathurst returning officer Stuart Evennett said voting is taking place in the new hall at the back of the school.
Access to the hall is from Barina Parkway and the front gates of the school are locked.
"Access to the hall is via a smooth pathway from Barina Parkway, and it also provides disabled access and parking."

► Bathurst Farmers' Markets and Sustainable Living Expo: Head down to the showground between 8am -12pm for great local produce and a coffee. The Sustainable Living Expo is also being held today and is a great opportunity to pick up tips on making your home cleaner and greener.
► Behind the Signs: Join a preview walk along 'A Delightful Spot Heritage Trail' the day before its official opening. Hear the stories behind the interpretation signs and visit sites without signage. Call the Bathurst Visitor Information Centre to make a booking, 6332 1444. Meet at Bathurst City Community Club at 10.30am.
► Cathedral Parish Fete: The Parish of St Michael & St John is celebrating the sesquicentenary of the Cathedral in 2015. To celebrate this occasion there will be a display in conjunction with the fete activities. The fete runs from 11am - 1pm in the Cathedral of St Michael & St John car park, Keppel Street.

Five candidates are vying for votes in the seat of Bathurst with unknown, and non-local, Narelle Rigby from the Christian Democratic Party (Fred Nile Group) taking out the coveted top spot on the ballot paper.
Following her are the three local candidates – Country Labor’s Cassandra Coleman, followed by the Nationals’ Paul Toole, then The Greens’ Tracey Carpenter.
In fifth and final spot on the ballot paper was Tom Cripps, who is from Smithfield in Sydney, from the No Land Tax party.
