LAST Friday night, the Oberon Tigers Premier League side took part in the Bathurst pre-season knockout playing Lithgow Workies for a chance to progress through and have an opportunity to win the $5000 prize.

Unfortunately, Oberon stumbled at the first hurdle, going down to Workies 4-0 in a close physical encounter.
The signs were positive despite the loss and the players are looking forward to the regular season.
First division had a bye on Friday night and played on Saturday against Bathurst Panthers.
Getting out to a healthy lead they looked set for a place in the final but Panthers came back and ended up victors 16-12.
Again, signs and attitudes were all positive, so a couple of weeks of solid training before round one and the whole club will hopefully be in for a successful season in Group 10.
