Our Group 10 carnival for 13, 14s, 15s and 16s is coming up quick this year and will be held on March 21 at the Leagues Club ground and the Recreation Ground.
The carnival day will involve up to 12 visiting clubs from the Group 10 area – around 900 junior players and around 2000 people overall on the day, including family and friends.
This is a massive day and takes a lot of organisation, so we are asking for parents and grandparents if they can give their time to help out with canteens, ground managing, setting up the field and cleaning up.
The minis have a carnival in Bathurst on this day as well – all parents will be informed of details close to the date. NRL are holding coaching and sports trainer courses in Bathurst on March 30 from 6pm to 10pm at Bathurst Sports Ground for Modified Games Coach (minis and mod), and on April 1 at the same time and venue for International Games Coach. All coaches and trainers must be accredited.
Contact Mick Armstrong on 0402 892 839. We have a number of talented boys trying out for Group 10 representatives this year.
Junior league have a complete new committee this year, so we ask for everyone to be a little patient with us as we are learning the ropes.
Our committee meetings are usually the second Tuesday of the month.
We are only a committee of five and we would like to see more parents at our meetings to put forward any suggestions and offer their help.
Any updates and information are usually posted on our Facebook page, emailed to parents or messaged by phone.
We will also try to put any news in the Oberon Review.
Our committee members are: president, Rowan Stocks; secretary, Brent Grady; treasurer, Julie Melchers; registrar, Peta Heffernan.
We have two positions we need to fill – a canteen co-ordinator and publicity officer – so if you think you could help our with these positions, please contact Julie on 0418 212 940.
