Federal Member for Calare John Cobb said he was thrilled that more homes in the Calare electorate have been identified as needing and getting access to NBN.
“The roll-out in our electorate has been a lot faster than originally planned, and with more than 20 towers already connected in Calare, plus the announcement of Cabonne, the roll-out is building real momentum,” Mr Cobb said.
“The geographic location of Oberon means they’ve endured years of poor internet services. It’s fantastic they’ve been identified as needing NBN services, which will ensure poor internet services will soon be a thing of the past.”
Mr Cobb said work on building the fixed wireless network in Oberon has commenced and it’s expected that broadband and phone services will be able to be connected in Oberon within 12 months.
NBN Co provides monthly updates on its website showing areas that have reached build preparation, build commencement and that are ready for service.
