AS a result of the response to the community survey, Resourcing our Future, and discussion at the December council meeting, Oberon Council is preparing an application to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) for a special rate variation of 7.5 per cent per year (including rate pegging) for the period 2015/16 to 2019/20.

Oberon Council is holding a series of meetings to present its IPART application at community briefing sessions to be held at the following locations and dates:
■ Tuesday, January 27 at 2pm at Robert Hooper Community Centre, Fleming Street, Oberon.
■ Wednesday, January 28 at 7pm at Black Springs Community Hall, Dog Rocks Road, Black Springs.
■ Thursday, January 29 at 7pm at Burraga Sport and Recreation Club, Lloyd Street, Burraga.
■ Tuesday, February 3 at 7pm at Robert Hooper Community Centre, Fleming Street, Oberon.
■ Wednesday, February 4 at 7pm at O’Connell Public School Hall, Black Mills Lane, O’Connell.
Council representatives are happy to address community groups and organisations in relation to the proposal and interested groups should contact council’s executive coordinator, Sharon Swannell on 6329 8151.
The IPART application and associated documents will be available for viewing on the council website oberon.nsw.gov.au, at council’s administration centre, 137 Oberon Street, Oberon, 6329 8100, or Oberon Library, corner Dart and Fleming streets, Oberon from Friday, January 23 to Friday, February 6.
