■ SUNDAY, January 18: police were alerted to a break-and-enter, malicious damage that occurred overnight at the Oberon and District Museum, Lowes Mount Road, Oberon. While it appears no items were taken in this incident, damage was caused to the doors of the museum. Police would like to hear from anyone with information about this matter.
■ Saturday, January 17: Oberon Police were advised that a group of people were making loud noise, drinking and throwing objects at the Rotary Lookout, Oberon. Police attended and located two young men wearing beautiful scraggly wigs, while another three people ran away from the area to avoid speaking to police. The two young men were spoken to and issued with a move on direction to leave the area. They complied with this directive. The young men also cleaned-up their rubbish while moving away from the area.
■ Saturday, January 17: Police attended Jenolan Caves Road, Jenolan Caves where a very lucky motorcyclist received only minor injuries after colliding with a car on the bends. The rider was taken to Oberon Hospital. Police would like to thank the RFS for their kind assistance in getting they highway vehicle back on its way.
■ Friday, January 16: Two move on directions were issued to two separate groups in the main street of Oberon after reports of an altercation in the middle of the roadway. Both parties complied with the direction. Police are aware of an ongoing personal dispute between two of the parties involved and have advised both parties that charges will be laid on the next occasion. The middle of town is not the place to settle disputes.
■ Thursday, January 15: Sheep yards and cattle scales were reported stolen from a property at Gingkin. Police are appealing to members of the public to come forward if they have any information relating to this matter. Oberon Police 6336 1000.
■ Monday, January 12: Oberon Police attended a Ross Street address to assist ambulance officers with a 63-year-old woman with chest pain. Unfortunately the woman could not be resuscitated and was pronounced deceased. This matter was not deemed to be suspicious and is not a coroner’s matter.
■ Sunday, January 11: Oberon Police undertook extensive patrols of the Abercrombie Road, Porters Retreat, Paling Yards and Black Springs area after attending a number of jobs broadcast in this area. A single vehicle rollover with a single woman occupant was deemed to be a minor motor vehicle accident after the woman received only scratches and bruises from her ordeal. With the new motor vehicle accident reporting that came into effect on October 15 2014, so long as there are no injuries requiring medical treatment, indications of drug or alcohol, and all parties have exchanged details, a motor vehicle that requires towing is a selfreporting incident to police and does not require further investigation. ■ Saturday, January 10: A 26-year-old Black Springs man will attend Bathurst Local Court on February 16, after being charged with a mid-range PCA offence. The driver was stopped on Tasman Street, Oberon at 12.20am, after first coming under notice for driving without his headlights on. He was taken to Oberon Police Station to be processed. The driver’s licence was suspended.
■ Friday, January 9: A 16-year-old male received two infringement notices for minor possession and minor consume alcohol in a public place.
■ Overnight Thursday, January 8 and into the early morning of Friday, January 9, young suspects broke into the Oberon Leagues Club on Lowes Mount Road, Oberon. Doors were damaged in gaining entry to the premises and a number of alcoholic beverages were stolen. Police have viewed CCTV footage and suspects are in the process of being spoken to by police. Police would like to call upon people that these suspects may have spoken to recently to come forward and make a statement. Police are aware that the local community and in particular the sporting community do not take it lightly that local persons may have committed this offence. ■ Wednesday, January 7: Police completed a report of damage occurring to a car door when a 21-year-old man threw a block of wood at another young man. Police are aware of ongoing personal issues between these two males and are monitoring these incidents.
