■ Calling all entrants for 2015 Oberon Showgirl. Entrants must be aged between 18 and 25 years. Contact Cheryl on 6336 0100 or Glenys on 6336 1849. This is a great experience for local girls and includes lots of fun.
■ On Saturday, January 24 there’s a FREE Youth Music Festival and Family Picnic at Oberon Showground. Bring along a picnic or purchase food and drink from the stalls at the showground. Music will be performed by various Oberon youth. Contact Oberon Youth Council 6329 8100
■ Oberon Show Society Working Bee January 31, 2015 at the Oberon showground. Lunch will be provided for those who are willing to come and give us a hand. The Oberon Show office will be open from February 9 to take entries for the Oberon Show.
■ Bathurst District Prostate Cancer Support Group’s next meeting and AGM is on Tuesday, February 17 in Daffodil Cottage, Bathurst.
■ The BreastScreen Mobile Van is visiting Oberon from February 18 to early March 2015. The mobile van will be located in Tally’s Lane. Phone 13 20 50 to book your appointment.
■ Oberon and District Museum, entry via Scotia Avenue, is open every Saturday and Sunday, 10.30am to 5pm, or by appointment. Enquiries 6336 1016.
■ Centrelink/Medicare agency – the Neighbourhood Centre at 12 Ross Street is pleased to announce that the Australian Government Service Centre is open at its new premises. For all Centrelink, Medicare or any Department of Human Services needs, call in Wednesday to Friday 9am-1pm and they can assist you. There is a selfservice terminal for you to lodge or enquire on benefits payable and a scanner/fax for documents which need to be sent. Please make use of this free service and save a trip to Bathurst. Please contact Sue FisherSmith on 6336 0909 for additional information.
■ Oberon Roller Derby (ORD) training is now on Monday nights from 6pm to 9pm at the Oberon High School.
■ The Oberon Uniting Church would like to invite any members of the community to an informal get together for morning tea at 10.30am, activities, followed by lunch at the Uniting Church Hall on the fourth Monday of each month. Cost $10 which covers morning tea, activities and lunch.
■ Knit With Love will be held on first Friday of every month from 10am-12.30pm in the Community Centre. All welcome.
