The competition was held last Monday and Clancy said it was a last-minute decision to enter.
“I thought I would enter for the experience,” she said.
“I performed a cover song and one of my originals. I was fairly nervous as I have never performed any my original songs to a large crowd.
“It went off really well.”
Clancy said there were lots of contestants and it got down to eight performers in the final.
“It was pretty cool to win as I was not expecting to,” she said.
Clancy received $2000 for first prize plus a 10-hour recording session at Fat Tracks Studio in Tamworth.
Clancy said she will probably record a couple of her original songs and a recording session alone will be another first-time experience.
“I’m looking really looking forward to it,” she said.
