President of the Oberon branch of Can Assist, Max Sward said without the community’s help it would not have been possible.
“Your support for our fundraisers has been absolutely wonderful,” he said. “The amazing support from the Oberon Tigers Football Club, the Masonic Debutante Ball, Oberon Council, Oberon Rotary, Oberon Garden Club, Oberon Arts Council and Titania Motel shows how tight knit the community is and what they will do for each other when needed.
“Without your support we at Can Assist would not have been able to help those in need; due to your help we have been able to distribute more than $30,000 in this time.”
Oberon branch of Can Assist considers requests for assistance on a case-by-base basis.
“Financial assistance will be considered in the following areas – medical expenses, pharmaceutical, travel for treatment, accommodation for treatment, hire of palliative care and medical equipment, personal care items, utilities, council rates, groceries, rent, wigs and even pet boarding costs during treatment periods,” Mr Sward said.
“All requests should be directed to Can Assist welfare officer Katie Maher at Rosedale Gifts – phone 6336 1820.
“There may be exceptions to the list – all requests will be considered.
“Requests are kept confidential and must be approved by two branch office bearers.
“Another year has come to an end and we at Can Assist would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.”
