Christmas is a time for celebration and your house could look stunning, especially at night, so residents and business houses are encouraged to take the time to string up some Christmas magic.

The Oberon Business Association holds the Christmas Light Competition every year, and homes and businesses houses can enter to win some fabulous prizes.

This year there is no exception; the best decorated house or business can win prizes in different categories, which includes a major prize of $300 kindly donated by Michael and Branka Peterson.

There will be prizes for the Best Private Residence and Best Business Display.

If you know of or have a house that has amazing decorations, just let us know and we will have a look.

It has always been a tradition in Oberon to take the kids in the car or even walk around your own street and have a look at Oberon’s great Christmas lights.

It is a great way to get in the spirit of the season, especially if you have a family.

So if you have spent weekends walking around your house suspending Christmas lights to your roof and creating a festival of colours and light on your home, show it off to the rest of Oberon and you will be in the running to win some Shop Local Gift Vouchers to the value of $25.

The competition will also have the popular category Best Decorated Christmas Tree.

To enter just simply take a photo of your tree and bring it into Ray White Emms Mooney, and the judges will consider if your tree is the most glamourous in Oberon.

Also don’t forget there’s three major prizes of $100 towards your car service or repairs at Oberon Motors.

Nominating is not compulsory but we would like to know if you have any decorations or lights up.
