Local RFS volunteers conducted training and information sessions covering topics such as fire awareness, fire science, leadership, and accident prevention in the workplace.
Over the course of the program the students learnt valuable lessons about fire safety, gained practical firefighting skills and developed an appreciation of the ideals and values unique to the RFS.
Skills that were learnt during the program were used in simulated emergency situations at an RFS Activity Day held in Bathurst last week, just in time for the upcoming fire season.
Congratulations to the students involved and thanks to dedicated local RFS volunteers Deanne Bailey and Jim Pitcher who gave up their time to run the program at the school.
