■ In the early afternoon of Friday, October 24, police were called to assist with an evacuation from the Oberon High School. A rotten egg gas smell had caused a number of students and a teacher to become nauseous and dizzy. The students and teacher were treated by ambulance officers at the scene and then transported to Oberon Hospital for further treatment. NSW Fire and Rescue and Hazmat conducted a search of the school, with a negative result. It is believed that the cause of the smell could have been a valve that was left on.
