■ MEETING: The next Oberon Can Assist meeting is on Thursday, November 13 at 7pm at the Oberon RSL Club.
■ PIZZA AND PASTA: Oberon Inner Wheel is having a pizza, pasta, pavlova and plonk night at the St Joseph’s School Hall on Saturday, November 15 at 7pm, $30 per person. Bookings at Melita’s Clippers. This is an over 18s event, with a bit of trivia, socialising and good fun. Tickets must be paid in full by November 1.
■ AUTHOR! AUTHOR!: Come along and meet author Nicole Alexander at Oberon Council Library’s next literary supper on Friday, November 14. Cost is $10, including supper.
■ ON SHOW: Oberon Show Society meeting dates are November 19, December 17 and January 21 at 7.30pm at Oberon RSL Club.
■ ENTRANTS: Calling all entrants for 2015 Oberon Showgirl competition. Entrants must be aged between 18 and 25 years. Contact Cheryl on 6336 0100 or Glenys 6336 1849. This is a great experience for local girls and includes lots of fun.
■ A DREAM: William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream will play at the Oberon RSL Club for one night only on Saturday, November 22. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.trybooking.com/FVWU or via local agents at 133 On Main, Country Belle and Rosedale Gifts.
■ BUSY BEES: Oberon Show Society Working Bee dates are November 23 and January 31, 2015 at the Oberon showground. Lunch will be provided for those who are will come and give us a hand.
■ ENROLMENTS: Oberon Children’s Centre is now taking enrolments for 2015. The centre caters for three to five-year-olds. Contact the centre for more information on 6336 1310.
■ HISTORY: Oberon and District Museum, entry via Scotia Avenue, is open every Saturday and Sunday 10.30am to 5pm, or by appointment. Enquiries 6336 1016.
■ LOCAL DERBY: Oberon Roller Derby (ORD) training is now on Monday night’s from 6pm to 9pm at the Oberon High School.
■ ON A ROLL: Oberon Indoor Bowling Club would like to invite members of the community to learn the skill of indoor bowling. Indoor bowls is on Tuesday evenings. Names in by 7pm to start bowling at 7.30pm at the Oberon RSL Club auditorium. Families and children over 12 years of age are welcome. Junior players between the ages of 12 to 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
■ GET-TOGETHER: The Oberon Uniting Church would like to invite any members of the community to an informal get-together for morning tea at 10.30am. Activities followed by lunch at the Uniting Church Hall on the fourth Monday of each month. Cost $10 which covers morning tea, activities and lunch.
