The course was in great condition. The winner in A grade was Mick English with a very good round of 39 points. Robert McGrath is showing some good form and had a round of 37 points to be runner-up.
Eric Whalan has been hitting his straps lately and had another excellent round to win B grade with 39 points.
The warm weather and a bit of run in the course suits Eric. Doug Collins had all his clubs in the bag this week, but still only had the same score he had with three sticks last Monday.
Doug was runner-up with a good round of 38 points. Kim Rawlings was nearest the pin on the first, Peter Dale surprised himself to hit one to 1.25 metres on the seventh and Bart Fitzpatrick, refreshed after a holiday, was closest on the ninth.
Nobody managed to get a measure on the 17th. Balls went to Laurie Murphy, Robert Hayden, Anthony McGrath, Dennis O’Connell, Barry Stubbs, Harold Lyme and Marty Hotham.
Golf next Saturday will be an 18-hole stroke, stableford event. The following Saturday, October 25 we will be playing for the Harry Bennett trophies (Lithgow Toyota).
We will be playing a stableford and mixed 4BBB.
On Sunday we will have a few golfers travelling to Henbury golf course at Kandos to play in the Blue Mountains championships. The following week will be the Henbury Open day.
