■ Bathurst District Prostate Cancer Support Group’s next meeting is on Tuesday, August 19 in Daffodil Cottage. Come along from 4pm for tea and nibbles, 4.45pm for a short business meeting, and from 5pm our group’s speakers. Men and women welcome, come early for a chat.

■ Oberon Show Society meeting will be on Wednesday, August 20 at 7.30pm at the Oberon RSL Club’s old dining room. Everyone welcome.
■ Tuesday, August 26 Arts OutWest networking night is on at 133 Oberon Street. Arts OutWest winter arts networking nights are social events for the arts and creative community, and a chance to meet, mingle, introduce yourself and make contacts. ■ Saturday, August 30 Burraga Ag Bureau presents the 55th annual Burraga Sheep Show and Country Fair. On from 9.30am, with stalls, displays, competitions, demonstrations. ■ Oberon Little Athletics will be accepting registrations outside IGA Oberon on Saturday, August 30 from 10am-1pm; Saturday, September 6 from 10am-1pm, and Friday, September 12 from 3.30pm-5.30pm. ■ Oberon Show Society’s Honky Tonk night is on Saturday, September 13 from 6.30pm at the Oberon Showground. Don’t forget your cowboy boots and hat. Tickets are $45 and are available at Wills Tyres 6336 1612. Beer, wine and spirits available at the bar.
