A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been charged over a crash near Oberon last month that claimed the life of a teenage girl. Bathurst police were called to the Lowes Mount State Forest just after midnight on Saturday, June 7 following reports of a crash.

Officers were told a group of friends from Wollongong were driving a 4WD through the area, when the vehicle left the trail and rolled.
A 15-year-old girl was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. Two male passengers also sustained minor injuries; a 21-year-old man was taken to Bathurst hospital as a precaution, while the other did not require further medical treatment.
A third passenger, a 20-year-old man, sustained serious head and abdominal injuries, and was airlifted to Orange Hospital.
The 24-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Oberon Hospital. On Monday, police arrested the driver. He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death; dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and failing to disclose the identification of passenger.
He was granted bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on August 26.
