Orange Hawks edged out the girls in the top five last season.
In the first half the girls made a strong impression to only be down 0-4 at half time.
The second half proved to be much more of the same, with plenty of good defence from the girls and, despite Hawks scoring two more tries and closing out the match 14 points to nil, the girls should hold their heads high.
They are definitely improving every week and once again captain Sarah Sargent was a standout, leading her side around the park in attack and defence.
Coach Greg Behan said the girls had improved 100 per cent on last week’s effort and, despite just needing to work on a few things, the girls aren’t too far away from their first win.
HAWKS 14 (K. COOPER, G. KELLEY, Z. ALEXANDER) tries, (J. LYDEN 1/3) goals defeated OBERON 0.
