The couple were travelling south along the O’Connell Road around 10 kilometres from Oberon when their car veered across the opposite side of the road, ploughed through a fence and stopped several metres from the roadway in a paddock.
Emergency service personnel and paramedics were called to the scene of the accident.
State Emergency Service controller Craig Gibbons said both doors of the vehicle had to be removed to release the couple from the wreckage.
The couple were both airlifted to Orange Base Hospital in a stable condition.
