It is hoped the recruitment will broaden the council’s experience to include the farming, timber and engineering sections of the community.
Malcolm Graham has long been a farmer in the district. He is also the current president and long serving member of Rotary and has a wide knowledge of the needs of the community.
He brings to the health council a focus on the health and social needs of farming and rural communities. Jim Hawkes is the occupational health and safety manager for BORG Panels.
He provides an extensive knowledge of the timber processing industry in Oberon.
His knowledge and experience in this area will be a valuable addition to the health council.
All members of the Oberon Health Council may be approached for information about health services or feedback to be delivered to the council.
The health council also has a stand at the monthly Farmer’s Market for anyone wanting more information about health services in the Oberon district.
