OBERON Under 18 Tigers took on St Pat’s in round three of the competition at the weekend. The, Tigers put up a good fight before going down 14-8 to the blue and whites.
It took a well-timed run from prop Jim Long to cross the chalk in the 11th minute to open the Tigers account. A short grubber kick from Dave Sellers got the mountain men another set of six at the Pat’s line only to be denied by a bad call. A defensive set held the blue and whites out with no worries.
An inspirational speech from coaches Darren and Buddy Hotham had the boys fired-up the Tigers produced a good first 10 minutes of play in the second half. A well- timed short ball from Dave Sellers put Blake Fitzpatrick in to score. From then on the Tigers couldn’t crack the St Pats defence and eventually went down 14-8.

The u18s Tigers observer award this week goes to Tim Cooper for his great defence against St Pat’s. He wins a $20 meal voucher provided by Cave Pizza.
