Tigers still need players

25 Feb, 2010 08:25 AM
Players are still urgently needed to fill positions in the Oberon Tigers and junior league football teams for 2010.

The Group 10 committee has accepted Oberon's nomination of the two teams, but it is now up to the players to prove their dedication to the sport.

The Oberon Football Committee is raring to go, but still needs players. Training is held Tuesdays and Fridays from 6pm.

The determination, will, strength and courage shown by Oberon teams last season showed the town still has many talented players and they produced some top rugby league for fans and spectators. The club committee has called on players to show their pride in the club and the town by making a special effort to get behind teams this season.

The club would like to hear the views of players in a bid to improve the club’s status.

Players need to commit to playing in the Tigers colours – the club needs to know names and numbers. Get along to training, put your name down and get registered.

If you want to play and carn't attend training at this stage contact the president, Ian Christie Johnston, on 6336 1128 or 0427 465 933, register and treasurer: Mary Jacobs on 6336 1137 or 0488 976 979 or secretary: Judy Jacobs on 6335 8273.

Players are disappointed that Shane Green had to decline his appointment as 2010 Reserve Grade coach due to work commitments. However the club is considering applications for the position. See you at training.
