OBERON Tigers are confident they will successfully defend the Centennial Coal Trophy at the annual knockout at Blackheath on Saturday, March 28. Fifteen-minute halves will be played in the preliminary games, then 20 minute halves to decide the final.
This should result in exciting football with eight teams, including newcomers St Pat’s and Katoomba, competing.
The Tigers have had a great turnout of players in the training sessions and are expecting a great season.
The squad for the knockout is:
Shayne Green, Nathan Booth, Jamie O’Neill, John McGrath, Matt Foran, Hendrix Paahi, Josh Pointon, Scott Foley, Scott Brennan, Michael Gibbons, Trev Long, Chilly Curry, Dallas Booth, Luke Christie-Johnston, Herb O’Bernier, Brendan Preston, Jayden Hadson, Adam Cosgrove.
OBERON will play at 11.10am against Lithgow Bears.
Under 18’s: The youngest under 18’s will play a trial match against Blayney Bears 18s at 12 noon on Saturday, March 28 at Blayney. OBERON has a good team right across the paddock and could cause a few surprises as the season gets into full swing.
All the best to both teams this Saturday!
The raffle supported by Mawhoods and drawn by the staff was won by Mary Maloney. The Easter basket was won by Billy Kitt. See you at the games.
