Tickle named Mid West Best & Fairest

15 May, 2008 11:12 AM
There was a general bye in the Centennial Coal Mid West Competition this week to cater for the Centenary Challenge Trophy Knockout at Gulgong last weekend.

Cheyne Tickle and Michael Gibbons were selected in the Mid West team.

On Saturday we played the strong Newcastle team and was in the game at lemons but was over powered in the second stanza.

Sunday saw Mid West take on Hastings League who defeated Woodbridge Cup on Saturday with plenty of injured players the Mid West boys hung on for a tough win 26-22 with Cheyne Tickle being named Mid West Best & Fairest for the knockout.

The JELD-WEN Hexion Tigers have the bye this weekend and are at home to Kandos on 24th May.

A documentary on the Oberon Tigers story is now in the pipeline and a professional crew will be at our celebration. “A lap of honour” on 31st May.

I also heard there is a new shaft in the old sulky in preparation for the big day.

Orders for centenary football jerseys $60 each. Order at Leagues Club.
