Dylan Jones first ran onto the football field for the Oberon Tigers at the age of seven. Ethan Barker began at the age of 10.
Both players immediately took a liking to rugby league. As they continued playing through the age divisions they both began producing good football.
After reaching the under 12s Dylan was chosen to represent the region in the Group 10 Under 12s Development Squad. Ethan joined the representative side in under 14s. Both boys have been selected again for Group 10 this season.
While playing rep football for Group 10 the two have gained unique skills and abilities that have moulded them into the players there are today.
During the 2009 season both players were noticed by a representative for St George Illawarra who continued to watch their performances throughout the season. Early this year St George approached both boys and they were told they met the standards required to be offered the opportunity to further their careers in the game.
On April 6 St George Illawarra recruitment officer Brian Keegan travelled to Oberon and signed the boys to a three- year contract with the club. Dylan and Ethan are very excited that this opportunity has come their way. They thanked Peter Gascoigne, Oberon Junior Rugby League Club, coaches and parents for all their support over the years.
